HISTORY OF SHAKESPEARE

Twenty-five kilometers west of Birmingham, on the banks of the River Avon in Warwickshire, sits the medieval market town of Stratford-upon-Avon. Famous for his collaboration with playwright William Shakespeare, this city has embraced all things literary and turned to tourism as a major economic pillar of the city.

IN 1196

Found in the Old Town Hall Croft, Croft Hall was home to Shakespeare's famous daughter and her husband, Dr. John Hall. This impressive house was built in 1613 and is a testament to the wealth and power couple in Stratford-upon-Avon. After Shakespeare's death and Dr. Susanna Hall New Place moved. Currently Croft Hall is a museum and exhibition space where students can walk on school trips and a feel for the life of the privileged time and learn the history of some of the obscure medical practices of the time.

IN 1769-1875 to 1879 AND LAST 2011

Royal Shakespeare Company, one of the best known companies in the world of theatre, and one of the cultural treasures of Britain, schools must include travel RSC theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon in the itinerary.
